Training & Development

At Phoenicia we believe in training as being the most powerful tool in developing the knowledge of personnel ashore and onboard ships. This in turn benefits the safety of people, property, quality of operations and maintenance onboard and finally prolongs the life of the ship.

Training Ashore

We conduct periodic in-house courses on Planned Maintenance, Accounting, Safety Management, ISPS (SSO) etc. We also conduct seminars which focus on Human Resource Management on board, Safety at work and Commercial Management. We utilize the expertise of our partner Aqaba Maritime Education and Training Center (AMETC) to ensure that our superintendents are well trained.

Training Onboard

Senior officers attend our office prior to joining vessels to undergo special training on our safety and quality management system; ship to office communication skills, reporting system, purchase policy and update on major issues onboard vessels.

Our senior staff on board is encouraged to give effective training to the junior officers and crew so that they in turn can realize their potential to institute a safety culture. We subscribe to various magazines and videos which are used for on board training and development.
